coachwork is a training app. It holds what you record about your training, and — if you train with a coach through it — it shows that coach your training. This page says exactly what is stored, who can read it, and how to have it removed. It describes what the app actually does, not what it might do one day.
Who is responsible
coachwork is operated by Ioannis Bravos. For anything on this page, write to [email protected].
What is stored, and why
| What | Why it exists |
|---|---|
| Your email address and name | To sign you in, and so a coach can recognise you. |
| Date of birth, sex, height, weight, training experience, goals, available equipment, injuries and pain reports | These are the inputs the program is built from. Without them the app cannot write a program for you. |
| Every workout, set, rep, weight, hold time, effort rating and note you record | This is the app's purpose. It is also what the next week's program is calculated from. |
| Body measurements, weekly check-ins and progress photos you enter | Shown back to you, and to your coach, as progress. Optional. |
| Videos and photos of your sets | Only if you turn saving on. Recording a set for the on-screen rep counter does not save anything by itself. |
| Messages between you and your coach | To deliver them. |
| Your public profile, posts, comments, likes and follows in the community | Only if you choose to create a public identity. See below. |
| A notification token for each device | To send you push notifications. Removed when you sign out on that device. |
Who can see it
- You. Everything above is yours.
- Your coach, if you have one, and only while the relationship is active. A coach sees the training they assigned you, what you logged against it, your profile answers that a program is built from, your body measurements, weekly check-ins and progress photos, your messages with them, and — because you asked us to save them — your saved clips and photos. A coach who has invited you but whom you have not accepted sees nothing. When a coaching relationship ends, both of you keep being able to read the messages already sent and neither can send another.
- Other people using the app see only what you deliberately publish: a public display name, a picture, and anything you post or comment. Creating that public identity is a separate, explicit choice; if you never make one, nothing about you is visible to anyone but you and your coach. Withdrawing it hides you again.
- Nobody else. Your data is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to train anything outside your own program.
Where it is kept
In a Supabase project (Supabase Inc.), which stores the database and files on Amazon Web Services infrastructure. Access is enforced by database rules rather than by the app, so the same rules apply however the data is reached. Videos and photos are stored in a private bucket, not on a public URL.
If you sign in with Apple or Google, that company tells us the account identifier and — the first time only — the name and email you agree to share. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we receive the relay address and nothing else. Push notifications are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service, which receives the device token and the message.
How long it is kept
Until you delete it. Training history is kept so the app can keep calculating from it; a program built on a week that has been erased is a worse program.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app. It removes your profile, your training history, your logged sets, your measurements, your body data, your messages, your notification tokens, your public identity, your posts and comments, and the records of any videos or photos you had saved. It is not reversible and there is no recovery window, so the app asks you to confirm first.
If you want the saved video and photo files themselves erased from storage at the same time, ask us at [email protected] and we will do it — they are in a private store that nothing can read once the records are gone, and automatic removal of the files is being completed. If a coach separately kept their own copy of a program they wrote for you, that copy is theirs and is outside this app.
Your rights
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted — in the app, or by writing to [email protected]. If you are in the UK or the EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
coachwork is not intended for anyone under 16, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and it will be removed.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who can see it, the app will say so before the change takes effect. The date at the top is the last change.
